Tanzanian side Azam FC has signed George “Blackberry” Odhiambo on a two year contract. The former Randers striker was expected to put pen to paper on Saturday afternoon.

Odhiambo left the Danish club after his contract was mutually terminated in April. He has attracted several clubs like former side Gor Mahia.

The club’s media officer Patrick Kahemele confirmed of the development. “I can confirm that we have signed Blackberry. He has been with the team and he will sign the contract this afternoon.”

With the forward joining the club, he will play alongside Ibrahim Shikanda who is the only Kenyan featuring in the Vodacom Premier League.

The Vodacom Premier League ends on Sunday and the second placed side will face Kagera Sugar while Simba who have been crowned champions will face Yanga.

Azam are set to play in the upcoming Kagame Cup that will take place in Dar es Salaam in which the Kenya international will be out to regain the form that saw him named the 2010 KPL Player of the Year.

The last time Odhiambo played for Harambee Stars was against Angola where the hosts won 2-1 at Nyayo Stadium in the African Cup of Nations qualifiers.
